Q.   Registration dates

A.   Registration for previously registered players are Due April 28th. The form is usually mailed to the players the first or second week of April, and is sometimes available at the Year End Banquet. New registrations will be taken after the duedate, without a late fee, however they will be subject to having room on a team or on an additional team where ice time permits. The Registration form is also available on the IMHA website.

Q.  Payments

A.  Payments can be made in full, or in installments with post dated cheques (see registration form). Fundraising cheque can be post dated for March 1st, 2011. If you wish to pay the fundraising at the start, it can be included in your full payment. Any individual cheques for fundraising are held until March, and will be cashed then if you have not achieved the required fundraising.

Q.  Tryouts

A.  IMHA holds tryouts in September. An opening letter, and September schedule is mailed to all players registered before August 15. The letter & tryouts are posted on the IMHA website as soon as the have been approved be the Board. The September schedule contains both the tryout times, and first scheduled practice time for players not trying out. The tryout fee is currently $50.00, and players are guaranteed at least three available ice times. Paying the tryout fee implies that the player will play on a competitive team if selected.      IMHA may register Shamrock & Addition Entry (AE) competitive teams when appropriate.    

Q.  Tryouts & Registration

A.  Players wishing to tryout must pay the registration fee & the tryout fee.

Q.  Cancellations

A.  Players canceling after September 1st will be subject to a minimum retained registration of 50%. Unless a written request for consideration is received and approved by the IMHA Board of Directors.  The Board meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month. Any requests are discussed & voted on at these meetings.

Q.  Leagues

A.  The male teams are registered with OMHA. Competitive teams play in the Shamrock League. Teams & Standings can be obtained through the OMHA Website. House League teams play in the Lambton / Middlesex League. Teams & Standings can be obtained through the OMHA Website ( www.omha.net ). Female teams are registered with OWHA. Both competitive teams & local league teams play in the WOGHL (Western Ontario Girls Hockey League).  Information on this league is available at www.mywoghl.com. IMHA board reserves the option to register teams with another league.

Q.  Competitive teams

A.  Competitive teams often require additional commitments. The opening letter contains further information about what it means to be on a competitive team.

Q.  Travel

A.  The OMHA & WOGHL websites (team standings) can provide some basis for where IMHA teams may travel. Some common centres played are Mitchell, Seaforth, St. Marys, Woodstock, Thamesford, Belmont, Dorchester, Aylmer, Port Stanley, Mt Brydges, Strathroy, Pt. Edward,  Petrolia, West Lorne, Lucan, Exeter (South Huron), Parkhill,  & Lambton Shores.

Q.  Ice Times

A.  IMHA provides 1 game time & 1 practice time per team per week, until the first weekend of March Break. Some teams will share the practice ice time with another team. The team schedule will also include away games in addition to the home schedule. The dates & times for any given team are not approved by the board until the September meeting. Until approved all times are subject to change. The previous year schedule is posted on the IMHA website, and your best source for the most likely game & practice times. Teams still in playoffs / playdowns / provincials will still have ice available after Mark Break, but times will be decided by the ice convener.

Q.  Initiation program

A.  A $125.00 discount applies to all players in the Initiation program (born in 2004, 2005, 2006). These teams generally do not have any games until December, and only have one practice time per week. Both male & female players are combined at this age group.

Q.  Fundraising

A.  Fundraising in IMHA plays an important part of keeping our registration fees at a low rate. For each player the family must either pay a $100.00 fundraising fee, or obtain 5 fundraising credits (per player). IMHA has events throughout the season which provide the means to obtain the fundraising credits. A few events that are available to assist with are: Picture Day, Silent Auction, Bruce Burgers, Novice Girls International Silver Stick, and the Year End Banquet.

Q. New to Ilderton Players

A.  New players must provide either a Birth Certificate if they have not been registered with OMHA or OWHA. If playing OMHA, and they have previously registered with another center, and have moved to the Ilderton area then an OMHA form referred to as a residential questionnaire must also be completed. This form will be available from the Board’s OMHA representative or the IMHA registrar. IMHA may require this form to be completed before a player is allowed to participate in Tryouts.
